1960's Classic TV Vintage Metal Lunch Box collection. |
|
The 1960's produced some of the most memorable TV shows of all time. This was a golden age for Television and TV show lunch boxes. It's no accident that the lunch boxes were shaped like TV's. Because of the popularity of those shows Baby Boomers flocked to the store to purchase new school lunch boxes decorated with their favorite TV show. The graphics on those metal lunch boxes was amazing. Unfortunately many of those old lunch boxes did not survive their constant use and abuse. If they did survive then the parents would not buy their kids the newest TV show lunch box. No child wanted to carry last year's school lunch box especially if the show had been cancelled. So it was important that their lunch box did not survive beyond the school year. So many children made sure that their lunch box was lost, damaged or turned into a forgotten lunch science project. Many lunch boxes that survived were recycled as a repository for things like used crayons or small toys. I have included some of the most collectible lunch boxes from that golden era. Many of the favorite collectible TV lunch boxes in high grade condition would sell for thousands of dollars today. The challenge for collectors now is finding lunch boxes in good condition. Good luck finding yours. |
